Class History By Anna M. Rice In September, 1942, the present dignified seniors made their grand entrance into these renowned halls of learning. The perpetual llsun'shine carriers were Frances Fitzgerald, Aquilla Hatley, Loretta Agee and Gloria Jackson. With their sup, port and under the able leadership of our class president, William Thompson, we ended the year with a llbaog, looking for; ward to the next year. Our sophomore year, we played it cool, but found ourselves minus of many class mates. Some dropped out while others went into the armed services of our country. It was at the end of this year that Genevieve Ferguson was recognized as attaining the highest scholastic achievement during our hi'st two years, and awarded a second scholarship for the continuation of her education. New members still came in the persons of Juanita, Brantley, Marie Wallace, Dorothy Wilkins. Bertha CrawforcL Mary Frances Greene, Barbara Robinson and others cast their lots with our now famous Class. Cupid played a leading role in our class that year and claimed the hearts of Virginia Cage, Genevieve Ferguson, Portia Thomas and Eura Lee Grimes in holyr wedlock.
