PATHFINDER 76 Venango Campus Clarion State College Oil City, Pennsylvania | i ' Since college is a constant search for new directions, the theme of our yearbook this term is Paths . Robert Frost ' s poem, The Road Not Taken , is an apt commentary on the decisions that must be made by us all. This year at Venango has been a year of searching for everyone. The paths were varied; some broadly blazed, and others hidden to all but a few. We have grown together by living, working, and partying together. Through this close contact, made possible by a small cam- pus, we have helped each other choose paths. Whether this was done knowingly, or unknowingly, it matters not. The fact remains that we will all leave Venango changed, because each choice we make takes us farther from the way we were. Diane Wagner Assistant Editor

The 1975-1976 academic year has been a highly eventful one for Venango Campus. As students, you have shared in the pleasure of watching it grow and in the frustration of wanting to use new facilities even before they fully materialized. You have patiently tolerated noise, mud, dust, inadequate parking, and cramped quarters. But you prevailed o er adversity and completed a year of study while the Campus itself completed a year of transformation. A hillside has been transformed into a library, a gymnasium, an auditorium, a student center. . . . Ne.xt, if things go as planned, courses will be transformed into career programs leading to the associate degree. Institutions, like human beings, require periodic transformation — identifiable stages of de elopment — or they perish. I am pleased to have participated m this process with you. I trust you have advanced in your educational careers in spite of the difficulties of change, real or imagined. Our experience makes clear what Robert Frost had in mind when he defined education as the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence. Mav vour future be serenelv self-confident!
