Geographical Society The CGS was formed to promote an in- terest in tile subject of cultural and physical geography. Activities included guest speakers, a slide show, a planetarium show, and fieldtrips. Archaeological Association The Clarion State College Archaeological Association was founded in 1964 to give students an opportunity to participate in archaeological research conducted by the Archaeological Laboratory at Clarion. In the past years the Association has sponsored field trips, lectures, exhibits and museum visits. Membership is open to all students in- terested in archaeology. Debate Team The debate team researches the national debate topic and attends tournaments at different schools to debate the resolution. In addition to debating on the National Resolu- tion, the debate team takes part in off-topic debates at various colleges during the fall and spring semesters. The team travelled to tournaments at the following schools during the spring semester: Old Dominion University, Marietta College, Ther College of William and Mary, Kent State University, Southern Connecticut State College, Junior Varsity Nationals and Debate Association of Pa. Spanish Club Spanish Club was established in the spring semester of 1974 at C.S.C. by members and their advisor, Mr. Ragael Diaz y Diaz. Their aim was to promote an interest in Spanish and HIspano-american languages, literature, and culture. Bios Club The Bios Club is an organ- ization made up of students from a variety of academic disciplines thiat demonstrate an interest in biology. Each semester a major and minor field trip is made to some bio- logical area of interest. Not only are field trips a function of the club, but speakers are invited to give presentations. Pre-Med Club The Pre-Med Club was fou- nded four years ago to provide an organization for people who were in the pre-med, allied health, pre- dental, and related fields to get to- gether to learn about current tre- nds in their chosen field. The membership is open to anyone who is a student of the college and has an interest in the med- ical field. They have had several speakers and a film pre- sentation.
