It doesn ' t mean we fade away in nameless numbers. Sometimes we blend; sometimes we stand apart. You see, the spotlight shifts. ► CHANDl PLER HALL ► 5TUDE ypf T AFFAIRS |, We start out together — all freshmen. Have to make our marks on campus, have to find our friends, have to choose a major, pick a prof, join basketball, debate, the band. Try to bypass registration lines, bookstore hassles, forms for Drop-Add, Pass-Fail, textbooks, graduation Exams, term papers, general ed., fees, roommates, long days, late nights. . r i lsME ' That ' s where it ends — the crowd, that is, the group, the gang, the herd. You ' re on your own, everyone sometime. Alone in dorm rooms, in library cubes, against the wall at a dance, walking home from a party. Alone, but not for long. Next day you steal the show, score a pin, ace a test. Snow falls, the sun shines . . . T X t Tii imm . You are you. Or maybe you ' re part of two or more faces. Leaving. Maybe you ' ll wish you could stay, do the bad things over, the good things again. Maybe you ' ll head for 1-80 with no regrets. Maybe you won ' t know even then what this place has been to you. But it ' s touched you somehow. Willing or not, you ' ve been a face in this crowd. .i ' I6 Fine Arts Fine Arts Fine Arts 17 Pottery M And Art 1« Fine Arts Fine Arts 19 1974 Clarion State College Marching Band Band Personnel Abbott. This season ended an era in Clarion football as thirteen seniors closed out their college careers. Eight were three-year starters and two were record setters — running back Steve Nolan and split end Ron Partridge. Nolan set a new career rushing mark of 1817 yards while Partridge holds Most Yards Receiving in One Year. A Small College All-American along with defensive tackle Tom Taormina. Partridge hauled in 36 passes for 778 yards. Bob Guyer, the first player in recent years to start as a freshman, also ended his career. Co-Captaining with Guyer, Tom West hauled in 82 passes over three seasons, an uncom- mon number for a tight end. Scott Peters was converted to defensive back during the season and led the league with seven interceptions. In the secondary with Peters was the George Blanda of the Conference, 27-year-old Jack Quinn. Gone were six starters from the 1973-74 team, which had quite possibly been the best team in Clarion ' s history. In dual meets the team ' s record was 13-5. Heavyweight Chuck Coryea was Clarion ' s only champion in the Penn State In- vitational. Individual champions Pete Morelli, Tom Turnbull, and Don Rohn led to their third consecutive Wilkes Open Team Championship. Clarion placed third in the Pennsylvania State College Conference Tournament with Don Rohn (142) and Chuck Coryea (HWT) as tournament champions. In the Eastern Regional Tournament Clarion had three champions, Pete Morelli (118), Rohn (134), and Corvea (HWT). At the NCAA Tournament Clarion finished in a tie for 26th place.
