This year our Student Council, under the supervision of Mr. Richard Bailey, joined the National Association of Student Councils. The aims of the Student Council are to: promote student activities develop better student-faculty relations assist in school management develop good student citizenship promote school pride provide means of student expression develop student initiative and responsibility provide training opportunities Probably the one single and most important objective is that of teaching habits of responsi- ble citizenship. The criterion of our Student Council are: CD clearly defined powers, accepted demo- cratic principles in its operations, constitution, and by-laws, support of the faculty, Gil a sound functioning organization, and f5l serving the school willingly. The Student Council sponsored a dance as well as student busses to the away basketball games. The Student Council is truly one of the most important branches in our school sys- tem. 9
