Kerr The School Board Although the pictures on this page display no captions list' ing extra-curricular activities of the persons portrayed, it is a certainty that these menis activities are by no means insig- nificant. The knotty problems of administration encountered by a board of directors make the most perplexing scholastic dilemna seem small by comparison. WVe refer to service on the Board of Education as an extra- curricular activity because the members are paid absolutely nothing for their time and talents. Remembrance of this fact would be beneficial for those who are unappreciative of the labor of our directors. The magnitude of their task can be better visualized when We refiect on the fact that they supervise the spending of more than 35100000 annually-the largest expenditure in the townships. Our Board of Directors has a liberal and progressive outlook on the social functions connected With the school. By per- mitting and promoting these social affairs the cultural side of education is absorbed and they deserve praise for their good judgment on this and other related issues. VVe high school students and the public at large are grateful to our directors and appreciate their unselfish attitude to- ward school problems. Cordon J.
