On this day, a product of eight years of preparation, we proudly marched into the class rooms of Mrs. Songer and Miss King. You can well imagine our pride as we were now considered a part of our Senior High school. Since our Freshman year we have taken an active part in all school activities and with pleas- ure look forward to the spring of 1949 when we shall receive our diplomas. Our first class meeting was on September 19, 1945 when we elected the following officers: President . , NVendell Love Vice President Kay Eshbaugh Secretary . Erma Swyers Treasurer ., .. , ., . . , , . , Iohn Love During the year, our activities were' skat- ing parties, a box social, and the movie, The Spanish Mainev from which we made a profit of 312337. Our treasury revealed 3199.04 as a result of our efforts. At the beginning of our Sophomore year, our class numbered seventy-three. After getting acquainted with the new students from Haw- thorne and Corsica, we had our first class meet- ing on September 25, 1946, and elected our class oflicers as follows: s President . Erma Swyers Vice Presdent Dick Fleming Secretary , Nlary Ann Taylor Treasurer . . , Iohn Love 26 Our advisers who helped us throughout the vear were Mrs. Arner, Nlrs. Corbett, 'and Mr.. Riley. C WVe will never forget some interesting activi- ties of this term. Our main event was the Sadie Hawkinis Day Dancei' which was a great delight to the whole high school. NVe sponsored the movie Black Beautyv and also a skating party at Clarion. XVe came back this ycar, September 3, 1947, as 'jolly luniorsv. Our class went to work immediately under the leadership of Mr. Kable and Mr. Aaron. VVe chose the following officers: President . ,. . , lean Raybuck Vice President . ,. .,.. Bill Canoe Secretary ,, . .. . Kay Eshbaugh Treasurer . ..,.,.. ,, , ,. .,..,., Iohn Love Shirley Myers was appointed editor for the School Newspaper which was continued from last year. ln October we had an enjoyable Halloweyen Party. The two most important events to come are the receiving of our class rings and the Prom. XVe have members who are interested in athletics and other activities. Soph. Class Officers Left to right-Mr. Riley, Sal ly Collett, Duane Neal, Ken neth Shick, Mrs. Berlin, Mr Keener, Evelyn Corbett, History of The Class uf IQEUH When we walked through the doors of Clar- ion-Limestone on September 3, 1946, everybody thought we were terribly Hgreenv, but soon de- cided otherwise when we entered into the spirit and the activities of the high school so co-oper- atively. Our 84 members were widely scattered over the surrounding communities, but we soon got acquainted and chose our class oflicers, who proved to be very efficient. The officers were: President ...,..,..,. ..... ......,., D o n Heasley Vice-President .,..,. Virginia Moore Secretary ....... .,..,.. K athleen Haines Treasurer ...,.............,...,., Evelyn Corbett Our various activities of the year netted us a profit of 88683. When we left at the end of the term, we felt proud of our progressive class. This year our class membership was reduced to 67, because many of our friends went to Sum- merville. VVe soon organized and elected our officers. They are: President ...,........ ....... S ally Collett V ice-President .,.,,. ,.......... D uane Neal Secretary ....,....,... ,.... E velyn Corbett Treasurer ,........,...,..,....... Kenneth Shick A memorable event for us was that day of hideous faces, and unkempt pigtails! You have guessed it, Initiation!', We all had a wonderful time, even though our bus drivers were doubtful about hauling us. We gave an entertaining pro- gram, and know our good sportsmanship was ap- preciated by the 'iluniorsf' VVe will never forget the sponsoring of our i'Sadie Hawkins Day Dancef, Everyone had a wonderful time, and we profited by it. We are planning to sponsor a movie and a skating party. VVe are sure our activities will be successful. Our enthusiasm spells SUCCESS,' for us. Our class members are well represented in school affairs-girls, and boys, basketball, cheer- leading, band, orchestra, and the choruses. We feel certain that we can walk erectly in the footsteps of the 'gjollv Iuniorsf, next year.
