Senior Class History On account of the firm insistence of our 8th grade teachers and a passing score from the 8th grade examination, a group of 71 bewildered students assembled as Freshmen in September 1944, in our hoped-to-be Alma Materf, There was much enjoyment in getting ac- quainted with our new home-room teachers, Mrs. Sonfier and Miss Kin f. The next thin Y with Ie which we were plagued was a number of books. Could anything come from them? we asked. Our first formal matter of business was the election ot officers who were: President .,......i. ...,...., E dwin McKinley Vice President . Margaret Reinsel Secretary ..,., ,. . ,,i,.i, Thomas Kerr Treasurer ...., . , . Martha Adamson At the time of initiation, we had never heard of the New Lookv but nevertheless we had it. The Sophomores, for some reason, enforced a sudden but short-lived change in the mode of dressing. This initiation made us all the more eager to become Sophomores when it would be our turn to do the initiating. VVe also want to remember as Freshmen the success of our skating parties and our dance. We pause here to express our sincere regret that Martha Adamson, one of our leading class- mates, was killed in an airplane crash on August 9, 1945. September 1945, brought 66 of our 71 Fresh- men back to go on with their course of study and this year take a step further to be 'iSunny Sopho- moresf, This year Miss Evans and Mr. Riley were our advisers and we elected the following offi- cers: President , ,. , . , ..,. . Clair Miller Vice President , Richard Hildebrand Secretary .,... . ,.,... Margaret Reinsel Treasurer .. . . Eugene Daugherty Our activities included the sponsoring of dances after the basketball games and several skating parties. VVe had refrained from our timidity by this time and joined the other students in basketball, cheerleading, orchestra, band, choruses, and many other activities. We left this year eager to return as Jolly luniorsv next year. In ,46, we returned to welcome many new students from Hawthorne and Corsica which gave us a total of 77 members in our class when We were capably guided by Mr. Kahle, Miss Coon, and Mr. Aaron and our new officers: President .,., . .. ..,,. Chauncey Shick Vice President . Ronald Skidmore Secretary .,..... .. Margaret Reinsel Treasurer ,. ,,.,.. ,..... .....,.,. I c ihn Mohney A big event in this yearis activities was the sponsoring of the movie, To Each His Own , in which we surpassed every other class in profit.
