Robert Adamson President Clarion Twp. Board Amos WV. Reynolds Vice-President Cyril T. Strattan Cordon I. Rice Robert C. Burnham Secretary Clarion Twp. Board Uur Board of .Education The problems encountered today in operating and controlling a school as large as Clarion-Limestone are many, varied, and complex. The members of our Board of Education are responsible both to the local voters and to the State Department of Public Instruc- tion in Harrisburg for seeing that the school is prop- erly operated at the highest possible efficiency. This responsibility requires much time and careful planning on the part of every school director. Our school organization now includes a personnel of ap- proximately 800 pupils, 31 faculty members, 14 bus drivers. and 2 janitors. As anyone can readily realize this constitutes a very large business enterprise from a financial and organizational viewpoint. In fact, the total school budget is well over 3100.000 per year. NVe wish to express our appreciation and thanks to the good citizens of our communities who have so ably served or are now serving on our board of educa- tion. While this task is of such vital importance to our community it carries no remuneration for such ser- vice except a very small fee to the secretaries for the excessive work involved in those positions. The fact that Clarion-Limestone has grown in such a short time to be the largest school in Clarion County speaks well for the wisdom and able planning of the public-spirited citizens of our community who have given and are so generously giving of their time and energy in serving the educational interests of our district. The exact center of this Wheel We might call your life or personality. This personality will be conditioned and regulated first by the hub which We might describe as consisting of such vital parts as our communication with others, our philosophy of life, our attitudes, and our emotions. Secondly, this hub is supported by seven spokes which we may call good health, satisfactory home and family relationships, vocational efficiency, worthy use of leis- ure time, good citizenship, religious activities, and good character. Becoming a successful personality requires that we must be able to achieve that vital and complex bal- ance among those variables essential to a well-adjusted life. This balance is a product of our human intelli- gence and can be properly developed only through our educational activities. My earnest wish for each and every senior is that he or she may be able to achieve and sustain that vital balance in life necessary for becoming a successful per- sonality. M. M.
