May it serve to perpetuate and enrich your friend- ships and increase your loyalty to your school. May it also give you a clearer understanding of the fact that the greatest satisfaction which can come to an individual is the realization that he has played his part successfully in helping his group attain a worthwhile goal. As you go through life you will all be mem- bers of many groups and organizations, such as family, church, school, classes, clubs, teams, state, nation, etc. Your success in your various groups will depend to a large degree on how adept you become as a contributing member. That. of course, means that one of your most important assets is your ahilitv to understand and get along with other people. The highest ideal toward which you can aspire is that of service to others. The greatest men of history are those who have given the greatest service to their fellowman. ,,,., . 7... DLI goof The year 1946 is the tenth anniversary of our school. Each year of our ten years saw something attempted, something done. May we review just a few of the highlights of our history? In the spring of 1936 our building program began and on October 1, 1936 we were allowed to enter the building which was incomplete. Our first classes were held in the busses. Classes were held on the stage while the bleachers were being built. Even the shouts of the teachers could not be heard in competition with the ham- mers of the carpenters. After six weeks of noise and dust our building was dedicated most fit- tingly with Dr. Lee Driver, head of the Depart- ment of Rural School Consolidation in Harris- burg delivering the principal address. In a short year we realized that our school of eight rooms was entirely too small to accom- modate our growing program of expansion so our citizens voted almost 3 to 1 to add more rooms, more equipment, more trained teachers, more enriched curricula and each year has witnessed the addition of the vocational, commercial, tech- nical, industrial and cultural courses. More than 400 young men and women have graduated from our high school. They can be found among our responsible citizenry in many worth while occupations, not forgetting their heroic sacriHces in our global war. Our Honor Roll contains 273 names and we humbly bow our heads as we think of those Stars of Gold. Dear Noble Knights! The Prize is yours! And Ours! VVe dare to dream of unconquered fields. Of World Peace, of World Brotherhood, may there be no end, as we study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen that needeth not to be ashamed. Class of 1946 we salute youl 1 speak for your friends. Grace D. Stewart
