Although hunting, fishing, and working at Phero's are Fredis likes, he can always find time to include bowling in his busy schedule, and we hear he's very good at it. While he appears to be one of the more reserved type, those who know Fred know he has a wit all his own, which he puts to use at the most unexpected times. Fred's greatest desire is to travel throughout the US. and in the near future, he plans to attend a trade school. Elvis Presley, Fords, and anything purple rate high with him. ,Iock's,' ambition is to own a purple Thunderbird, and he can frequent- ly be heard saying, Cool, cool, cool! Working on his Ford provides good experience for the auto body shop he hopes to own in the future. Jock has a strong dislike for Chevrolets, jazz, and girls who insist on wearing too much perfume. We have a continuation of the Core Curriculum, that is, double periods in English and Social Studies, as started in Seventh Grade. Two girls were elected to represent our class as Junior Varsity Cheerleaders and at the end of the year the American Legion gives its Best Citizen Award to a boy and girl chosen as representatives by their class- mates. HOMECDMING The canceling of our scheduled game with Sykesville due to weather conditions did not dampen the spirits that prevailed on Homecoming day, 1959. Nine oiclock p.m. found the gym decorated in the traditional orange and black. Henry Cyphert capably performed the duties of disc-jockey for a large and colorful crowd. The highlight of the evening was the coronation of the 1959 Homecoming Queen, Sandy Johnson, who looked radiant as she was crowned by Joe Staley and presented with a lovely bouquet of bronze mums by Dick Klingensmith lCo-Captains of the football teamb. Following the l0 oiclock crowming the court danced to Moments to Remember led by the Queen. Senior members of the court were: Lois McGregor, Pat Miles, Judy McLaine, Bonnie Wynkoop, Tim Fulton, Paul Boyles, Denny Stewait. Larry Gallagher. Carol Blair, Sam Troese, Betty Kennedy and ,loe Scott were Junior members of the court. Our thanks to the Senior Class of 1960 for a Homecoming celebration that will long be remembered. Considering the inexperience and the number of Sophomores on the team the record speaks for itself. The only advantage the l.V.7s had was their height, with Norm. John, Torn, Larry, Bill, and Bob all standing over six feet tall. The 'Cats were never without at least two 'isix footersv in the lineup. As we look hack to the record compiled by these boys. it is easy to envision some winning seasons for the future Bobcats when they have some more experience. MR.
