The officers of the Senate are: President, Paul Discher, Vice- President, Johnny Okerlln, Secretary-Treasurer, to be elected. The purposes of theorganization are to .establish fair play, to insure cooperation, to promote general participation in school activities, and to develop a sense of honor for the school. The activities are: sold apples at the Junior High Tournament, help in beauty shop at school carnival, and helped in clean-up campai n of rest rooms etc . . . 9 , - CraneThe organization is sponsored by Beulah McClanahan. Assistant sponsor is Bernice Miles of Smiles in Studebaker The Junior High School Safety Patrol has carried on a very effective safety program at the junior high school this year. Each month a set of posters on safety, from the Motor Club of lowa, are displayed in the halls, and the boys and girls have helped to take care of the pedestrians in the vicinity of the building. During the first semester, there were l9 ninth grade members in the organization. On February 2, seven eighth grade members were taken into the membership. Activities of Junior Honor Society include hall decorations for Christ- mas, Heart Pal Week, Easter program, and an annual banquet for new members. Electricity is- Cheap The Junior High School Y-Teens are affiliated with the Iowa District YWCA. There is a membership of one hundred and nine who hold meetings each month. The cabinet of the organization is made up of the president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, pianist, song leader, and chairman of the following committees: worship, service, social, and publicity. The purpose of the club is to bring about greater fellowship among the junior high school girls by carrying out the program of worship, social activities, and service to others.
