Class rophec We mterrupt thls banquet to brmg you a spectal news bulletml A Jet flylng at tremendous speed has just broken the ume barrler and flown 1nto the future year of 1970 Now through the f3Cll1Il6S of the Class of 1957 we brmg you an eye wltness account of thts htstory maklng event As we land at the world s leadmg atrport Clartdon we are met by the cxty s f1rst lady mayor Jean Haley who takes us on a tour of the busy and thrlvlng metropohs Our frrst stop IS at the fashxonable El Dorado Nlght Club for a blte to eat Here we are greeted by the club s owner, Mrs James Stewart the former Ruth Anne Perstnger Mrs Stewart tells us that she IS qulte busy prepartng for a banquet ln honor of the great four tlme all Amerxcan Bob Scoot Along Howser who IS at present the superxntendent of a leadxng glrls school As we step out side we see Mrs Larry Stms formerly D1Annlrey and her s1x offsprxngs go whxzzing by nn thelr 1970 red Oldsmoblle bemg careful not to exceed the mnety miles per hour speed hrmt Mayor Haley tells us that Mrs Stms ts muslc mstructor at the consohdated Clarxdon Hlgh SchooL A few doors from the restaurant we glance ln the wmdow of a neat looking beauty salon There we spy Marxlyn Crum now Mrs Bob D1ckerson glving Alfreda Collmer a starthng new haxrdo We see by the s1gn that Marxlyn IS one of the outstandmg beautxcxans of the country Mayor Haley tells us that Alfreda hves on a two hundred acre farm and IS qu1te busy and happy w1th her husband flve chlldren nme servants and alrplane whlch she fl1es to town every week Farther down the street we pass the c1ty s natxon wrde IeleVlSl0ll broadcastxng stanon CLAR We see Sue and Teen Frankhn hurrymg mto the blllldlllg and Mayor Haley 1nforms us that the glrls btlled as the Frankhn Slsters are the stars of the weekly program, Clarxdon J ubllee The gtrls almost colhde with a very cheerful Carole Lusch who comes dashmg out the door Mayor Haley tells us that Carole has 5 00 A M She tells us not to mlss Carole s next show when her guest star wlll be Betty Ruth CLAR s women's wrestlxng champlon In the mxddle of the cxty we spy the campus of the modern Unlverslty of Clarldon Just leavxngonaheld trlp wxth one of hls classes IS the errunent geologtst Professor Douglas Krexs And there hurry1ng across the street we see a dnstxngutshed gentleman w1th a goatee whom we recogmze as Larry Kramer Mayor Haley tells us that Larry IS now head of the mustc department of the Umvers1ty A passxng parade halts our tour and we see that the processlon IS xn honor of Howard Seckel who has just been elected sherlff by a landsllde vote Mayor Haley tells us that Howard has never marrled but stlll loves them all The next stop lS the offlce of the Clarldon Gazette where we learn that Bob Johnston IS edxtor Glancmg through the pages of today s edmon we see that Larry Row has been named Bngadxer General of the Umted States Alr Force At thxrty two Larry lS youngest man ever to reach th1s goal In another art1c1e we read that Nancy Jordan has been promoted to the Job of head stenographer at a leadmg manufacturmg plant Readmg further we see that N1ck Trxmmer now enjoymg Navy lxfe has just recelved spectal FBCOQIIIICII for resculng a blonde who fell overboard Funny thlng, N1ck always dxd hke blondes ln the res1dent1al sectlon of the c1ty we pass a fme lookmg home Mayor Haley says that here hves the Homemaker of the Year award wlnner Hazel Baurngardner now the happy w1fe of B111 Cluff We 1mag1ne that the four httle Cluffs playmg 1n the yard must keep Hazel quxte busy In the large 1ndustr1al sect1on of the c1ty we pass an xmposmg bulldmg the paper dlaper factory Mayor Haley informs us that thls busmess IS owned by Marlene Jackson s good lookmg husband However she says that the couple s three sets of trlplets are rlmmng the company lnto bankruptcy Next door ts the world s largest mattress company We spy Ernest Van Voorlus entermg and Mayor Haley tells us that he IS the founder and owner of thxs large estabhshment She also says thatBery1Haycook1s very happy tn tlus f1rm as a prrvate secretary and ts now engaged, but she has not been lnformed just who the lucky guy lS Concludlng our tour her own program, The Awake Be Cheerful Show, which comes on the air bright and early at
