We have worked all year to build and preserve pride in ourselves and as a class - Room 8. Miss Tauman What I enjoy most about teaching is when I see that invisible lightbulb go on when a student finally gets it! My room did an extensive study of the newspaper in education. lt culminated with a tour of the Republic and Gazette facilities. We also carved pumpkins and gave them away to the cafeteria, office, nurse, etc. ffor Halloweenj My room made Valentine's Day cards for Kerri Etchechurry. The fifth grade class now identifies with Clarendon. They are very much looking forward to their junior years. hmmm Mrs. Simhauser Sixth Grade - Room 9 Room 9 is enjoying a busy year in Sixth Grade. We are proud of Brenda Foutz and Tricia Winston. Each of these girls served a semester of Lower Grade Program Chairman in our Student Council. Brenda was also elected Recording Secretary for the second semester. Eleven students from Room 9 actively participated in Clarendon's band pro- gram. Elaine Martinez from our room was elected to city Honor Band. Many sixth graders have participated in the many sports offered at Clarendon. Mr. Goodoien Room 13 This year my class made models of brains, eyes. ears, and insects for health and science. We did ten labs, ranging from plant studies to looking at the amount of nerve endings on different parts of our arms, legs, and back. We looked at the different kinds of plant and animal populations on the Clarendon Campus and finished up the year with an archaeo- logical dig to study direct and indirect evidence, systematic searching and archaeological techniques.
