Varslty Football Top Row L to R Mr Waters, B Goudie, B Melvin, B Kelly, C Simons, G Roberts, E Paolucci, G Whitlock, C Wellman, E Nogle, J Hicks, R Rapelje, Mr Nutter Middle Row L to R B Forsythe Bottom Row M Keller, P Stevenson, R Swarthout, D Makee, D Findlay, T Stevens, B LaLond The fighting Trojans of 1957 58 experienced a season marked with frustration, disappointment and defeat from the very beginning After loosing 18 O to Bloomfield Hills in the sea son's opener, Coach Bill Water's stalwarts dropped seven straight games While this perfect record of loosing d1dn't leave the coaches, team, or student body in a holiday mood, there were many noteworthy aspects of the season past This year's Trojan eleven showed no signs of letting up even when hopelessly trailing in the late stages of their games Team spirit and personal confidence in each other were at a high level throughout the long season Led by Co captains Larry Andrews and Cliff Wellman, the Trojans entered each contest as a unit, by the same token, they left as a unit never singling out individuals or circumstances for the disappolnting results This is the character of a truly fine working team Future C H S teams may sport better won lost records than did this year's team, but none will try harder game after game, and still maintain the high-level individual and team spirit, and desire to excell.
