On October 8th at Avondale, a stronger and more experxenced team agaxn ruled over Clarencevxlle Wxth only two semors, Duane Roy and joseph Nhtchel, to spark the team, the Trojans were agaxn beaten on October 15th, by Keego Harbor The run was held at Clarencevrlle The Thxrd Annual C H S Cross Country Meet was held at Cass Benton Park on October 22nd, The power of depth and experience was agaxn shown as Bently won, followed by Belvxlle, Mllford, Howell, Keego Harbor, Avondale, and Clarencevxlle, placxng rn that order Duane Roy, Clarencev1lle's out standmg runner, came wrtlun slxteen seconds of the school record, runmng hrs best ume of 10 49 Coachxng the team was Mr Wxllxam Hone

Our next meet, Apnl 14th, was a trlangular meet with lnkster, Roosevelt, and South Lxon, 1n wh1ch C H. S took second. At the followmg meet, on the home track, Aprll 21st, Clarencevllle was defeated by the Farmmgton Falcons On Apr-11 30th, C H. S placed thrrd rn a tnangular meet between Keego Harbor, Detrolt Lutheran, and Clarencewlle, the school placrng 1n that order In our fxrst meet wlth a league school, May 5th, the Trojans defeated Mxlford on thelr home tract for Clarencev1lle's f1rst vzctory of the season. The Annual League Meet held on May 12th found C. H. S. takmg second place, losmg to Clarkston by only fave sxxths of a pomt. In a meet wlth Clawson and Garden Clty, May 19th, the Trojans topped them both, takmg f1l'St place. 'I'h1s year Clarencevrlle had two boys go to State, Wrlham Myers and Lee Wrlcox. Many school records were broken th1s year and new ones estabhshed: hlgh hurdles, W1Ll1am Myers, 21. 3, 440, Donald Douglas, 55. 5, 220, john jarrell, 24, 3, shot, Paul Vanderberg, 39'6 , broad jump, james jones, 18'3 g 880 relay team Wilham Myers, Donald Douglas, james jones, 101111 Jarrellg hxgh jump, john jarrell, S'5 .
