The Clarencevxlle football team started off another successful season September llth by defeatmg thelr rlval Farmlngton, 7 6, the flrst mme 1n s1xteen years Gene Garbxn scored all of Clarencev1lle's poxnts The next week the TroJan's played on 'vhlford's fleld only to be defeated, 25 7 james Jones scored for C I-L S and Robert Grose added the extra poznt. Hungry for vzctory and playmg host to Huron Townshlp the next week, Robert Soop and Donald Douglas collected pomts as the TroJan's downed them, 18 0 Playmg away the followmg week, Robert Soop scored on the openmg luck-off and Glenn Reed scored once, but proved not to enough, as Northvllle went ahead to w1n 25 13 At home agam, the Trojan's played Clarkston only toend up on the short end of a 13 12 score, loslng thexr chance for a posslble t1e for the f1rst place Robert Soop tallled twice whxle Dale Dev1tt and james Jones socred one touchdown aplece as C H. S blasted Holly, 25 0 Gene Garbm makmg one extra pomt, In the annual Homeconung game, w1th Gene Garbxn scorlng agam and Glenn Reed and James jones collecnng poxnts, Brighton was shut out, 25 0 The last game of the season ended wrth Clarencevxlle tymg the1r school scormg record and beatmg Keego Harbor, 32 6 Robert Snell scored once whxle Glenn Reed and Gene Garbm tallled twlce Robert Grose added two extra polnts At the end of the season, several players recelved honors from vanous news papers m Detroxt. Captam Robert Grose, tackel, quarterback, Glenn Reed, and center, Bruce Morene recexved ALLHSTATE honorable mennon from the Detrozt Tlmes and News Glenn Reed and Robert Grose recexved the same honors from the Detroxt Free Press These boys along wlth Rxchard Godette were chosen as best ID the league and were elected to the WAYNE OAKLAND COUNTY LEAGUE TEAM
