TRACK Coming off a 7-1 sea- son the 87' boys track team rebound- ed back with a 8-0 season. It took the 4 x 1000 relay against Iroquois to cap off a superlative season that was enjoyed by all. We set many school and W.N.Y. records. The school record in the 1600 meter re- lay was by Mike Garrett, Rol- lie Duttweiler, Todd Burks, and Dennis Webster. In the distance medley relay Mike Garrett, Todd Burks, Mike Hallock, and Dennis Webster broke the long standing re- cord. The 1600 meter relay team won the ECIC cham- pionship, Section Three championship and placed seventh at the state meet. In the individual events white letter and MVP Dennis Web- ster set a new school record in the 400 meters and also set a school and W.N.Y re- cord in the 800 meters. Sen- iors Jeff Brooks performed quite strong in the throwing events. Rich Walter and Paul Kulniszewski in the jumping events, Mike Garrett in dis- tance events and Rollie Duttweiler in hurdles. We would like to thank head coach Tom Goddard, assis- tant coaches Billi Davis and Stevie Ratzel for a fantastic job in coaching us. ROW 1: A. Botra. B Hall. C. Carbonei B. Honeyman, D. Patterson. T. VARSITY SOFTBALL Last year the Girls Varsity Softball Team finished our season with a win- ning record, sending four of our players (Julie Bowers, Kate Mahoney, Penny Ham- mond, and Jenny Gross) to the ECIC III all-stars. This year's team has just as much, if not more, talent than last year's team. It will be led by seniors Julie Bow- ers, Alissa Constantino, and Penny Hammond. Being a member of the team for five years now, I feel a part of me is embed- ded in the field at Clarence. (I've eaten enough of its dust!). Now with my senior season approaching, I look back to my first one and the changes that have come since then in my skills and my self as a whole. Through soft- ball, I’ve learned what it's like to work with people for the benefit of the whole. This season will, I'm sure, be a special one. It's odd to think that next year come March, I won't be training at Cla- rence for softball. That part of my life will have passed. But the memories will last for- ever! Thanks to my team- mates - especially Julie! - Penny Hammond ROW 1: A. Constantino, D. Bischof. R. Behrens, J. Bowers. J. Monkelbaan. G Stefanik ROW 2: Coach Charlie Vesper, A. Lindquist. J. Gross.
