The 86'-87' J.V. Softball team had a great year. We were twelve and three and second in our divi- sion. The most valuable in- fielder was Brenda Faust, most valuable outfielder was Renee Bazinet, and Darbi Milewicz recieved the coaches award. During the middle of the season, we lost some of our key players to injuries: Kim Lewis, Vicki Prit- chard, and Joyce Waibie, but with the help of our coach, Mark Layer, we still maqnaged to pull through. Next year we are hoping for less injuries and another great year. JV SOFTBALL ROW 1: R. Bazinet, t. Van Delmder, J. Hahn, S. transiskus, G. Grieco, R. Radwan, V. Pritchdrd ROW 2: Codch Mark Layer. A. VARSITY SOFTBALL Last year the Girls Varsity Softball Team finished our season with a win- ning record, sending four of our players (Julie Bowers, Kate Mahoney, Penny Ham- mond, and Jenny Gross) to the ECIC III all-stars. This year's team has just as much, if not more, talent than last year's team. It will be led by seniors Julie Bow- ers, Alissa Constantino, and Penny Hammond. Being a member of the team for five years now, I feel a part of me is embed- ded in the field at Clarence. (I've eaten enough of its dust!). Now with my senior season approaching, I look back to my first one and the changes that have come since then in my skills and my self as a whole. Through soft- ball, I’ve learned what it's like to work with people for the benefit of the whole. This season will, I'm sure, be a special one. It's odd to think that next year come March, I won't be training at Cla- rence for softball. That part of my life will have passed. But the memories will last for- ever! Thanks to my team- mates - especially Julie! - Penny Hammond ROW 1: A. Constantino, D. Bischof. R. Behrens, J. Bowers. J. Monkelbaan. G Stefanik ROW 2: Coach Charlie Vesper, A. Lindquist. J. Gross. J. Van De- linder. P. Hammond, T. Lynch, K. Mahoney. H. Hartl, D. Monkelbaan Softball - 27
