 Homecoming - Homecoming week started off with a lively display of school enthusiasm during Spirit Week. Many students left their Reeboks and Levis at home in fa- vor of plaid pants and platform shoes on Nerd Day. Tuesday, students had a chance to imitate their favorite teach- er. Wednesday, the halls were filled with crazy hats and ties. “Sit-ins , bare feet, and tie dyes were appropriate only on Woodstock Day. The tradition- al Red and Black Day on Friday led the way to an exciting, boisterous pep ral- ly- Friday night, many students got to- gether to produce one of our more ex- citing carnivals while the Devils' bonfire sparked behind the football field. Sat- urday morning. Main Street was filled with screaming students and decorat- ed floats for the parade. In sport's action, the varsity soccer Heather Evans. Dawn Heiser, Kelly James, Denise Van Bourgondien, Cathy Zimmerman, Jason Powers, Luke Cusack, Tim Andruschadt. Mike Aquino, Kevin Matey team lost to West Seneca East with a score of 2-1. Dennis Webster won the West Seneca East Invitational. The girls varsity swim team outswam Cheektowaga by a score of 51-37. The girls Varsity field hockey team also re- presented Clarence well by beating Cheektowaga with a score of 5-1. The annual football game had a very spirit- ed turnout with confetti and excite- ment in the air. The Clarence Red Devils beat the St. Joe Marauders with a score of 14-6. At half time, the Dancing Devilettes and the cheerleaders led the crowd to the band's rendition of “Walk Like An Egyptian . The Homecoming Court was announced, and the king and queen were crowned. The annual Homecoming dance was the perfect ending to an exciting week. “The 1987 Homecoming Queen I couldn't help but feeling like I was in some sort of dream Allot the excitement started with the parade, it built up inside of me and lasted all day. The thrill of the football game in every tackle, kpk. and pass, made time goby quick- ly. and halftime was here at Pst It was finally lime to find out who the King and Queen would be. I kept hoping inside that it would be Tim and me! When the moment arrived and the winners were said, l couldn't believe it when our names were readI For Your Eyes Only was played by the band as I walked down the field holding on to Dad's hand. It was an experience of a lifetime that I never wanted to end. an of the hugs and the kisses from my cPsest of friends. The moment I'd dreamed of had actually come to be. I still couldn't believe that the new queen was me - Kelly James

 8 - Powder Puff 2 Seniors! Juniors! senior teams soared. The Seniors played a strong game. The first half ended with the Seniors leading 6-0. The touchdown was scored by Allison Smith on a beautiful run. The Seniors held the Juniors back until the second half when Smith ran another touchdown and Janet Kneiss kicked the extra point for a Senior lead of 13-0. The Juniors never gave up and showed themselves well with a tough defense and their precise of- fense. They defended themselves right to the end and are looking for- ward to next year's game. On September 30th, 1987 the CCHS girls shed their dresses, high heels, perfume and makeup for the garb of combat. The girls were psyched as they walked proudly into school in football jerseys, sweatpants, cleats, and painted faces. It was the day of the annual powder puff game. All day long the girls displayed their spir- it. The CCHS halls were filled with the shrillness of the players' voices. With the help of the male cheer- leaders the girls marched excitedly on the gridiron. The rainy weather did not dampen the players' spirit, as the rivalry between the junior and
