Homecoming ✓ ► The Homecoming King and Queen, Dan Chamberland and Cheryl Slawson. The bands make a fortune by selling rain gear at the Homecoming football game. What can be better to break up the mid-October doldrums than an exciting, activity-filled Homecoming Week? This year’s festivities were undoubtedly a smashing success from the very start. On Monday, CCHS halls were filled with Greasers decked out for the lunch-time sock-hop. Tuesday’s Hat Day and Wednesday’s Backwards Day proved to be a lot of fun. and on Thursday student sleepyheads ap- peared in their pajamas and robes, toting their teddy bears. Thursday night was the big night for the Variety Show, with M.C.’s Brian Shemancik and Sibby Fasen- ello. On Friday, students showed their spirit by partici- pating in Red and Black Day and the Pep Rally. That night there was the traditional carnival and bonfire. On Saturday, the Homecoming game was played despite a constant downpour, and the Red Devils whipped the Cheektowaga Warriors 7 to 6, while de- voted fans watched from the stands. 20 Homecoming
