Laborious Leadership With the installation of a new principal at Clarence Central High School, new doors have been opened for the Student Council. The efforts of this year’s Student Council may be the foreshadowing of a different type of life at Clarence Central. The class advisors play an important role in inspiring Student Council members with new ideas. These advisors are Mr. Anaka, Class of'84; Mr. Wingard, Class of'83; Mr. Neubauer, Class of'82; Mr. Hicks, Class of ’81; and Mr. Bogey, who is in charge of the Student Council officers. This outstanding group of students is selected by the student body to act as a medium of exchange of ideas between the students and the school board. In order to improve their ability in this position, many members of the Student Council attended a leadership conference in Albany last fall. Student Council Officers: Mike Blemcl — Treasurer; Lori Van Nuys — President; Steve Palmerton — Vice- President; Sue Thielman — Secretary; Dan Goldstein — Treasurer Senior Officers: Chris Small, Sue Spoth, Wendy Craig, Amy Spencer Senior Representatives: Dave Wright, Pete LaNasa, Lynn Jones, Peg Voltz 18 Studcnt Council

Homecoming ✓ ► The Homecoming King and Queen, Dan Chamberland and Cheryl Slawson. The bands make a fortune by selling rain gear at the Homecoming football game. What can be better to break up the mid-October doldrums than an exciting, activity-filled Homecoming Week? This year’s festivities were undoubtedly a smashing success from the very start. On Monday, CCHS halls were filled with Greasers decked out for the lunch-time sock-hop. Tuesday’s Hat Day and Wednesday’s Backwards Day proved to be a lot of fun. and on Thursday student sleepyheads ap- peared in their pajamas and robes, toting their teddy bears. Thursday night was the big night for the Variety Show, with M.C.’s Brian Shemancik and Sibby Fasen- ello. On Friday, students showed their spirit by partici- pating in Red and Black Day and the Pep Rally. That night there was the traditional carnival and bonfire. On Saturday, the Homecoming game was played despite a constant downpour, and the Red Devils whipped the Cheektowaga Warriors 7 to 6, while de- voted fans watched from the stands. 20 Homecoming
