June 28, 1938 has passed and all that remains of the class of ’38 is memories. We have much to be proud of and grateful for. As Juniors we were doubly honored by having Janice Weinauge and Herbert Weinsheimer take top honors in the Speaking Contest. In the fall of 1937, under the supervision of Miss Durkee, we began, what proved to be, a more than suc- cessful year—Who can forget the beautifully colored gym and the grand time had by all at our Christmas dance? After mid terms, being filled with the joy of conquest (?), nine of the seniors began practicing for The Green Light”, with Miss Tanner directing. The week of the 3rd and 4th of March noted signs of disgust on the countenances of the cast but it was well worth the effort when news came of the overwhelming success the play had brought financially and—need wrc say—entertainingly. Shortly after our supper in April, the 19th to be exact—the long awaited moment arrived—the trip to New York! ! ! ! ! ! (Several pages of exclamation points couldn’t begin to express the grand time we had.) Three days of sight seeing tours, theatres, walks in Central Park at 2:00 A.M., getting lost on the subway and having little snacks” here and there—well, it was all great while it lasted, even the trip home which boasted a lot of undiscovered talent (?). To Mrs. Blue, our homeroom teacher, who was not able to be with us more than a month, due to a hip injury, we wish a complete and lasting recovery. To Miss Durkee, our advisor, we wish to express our sinccrest appreciation for all that she has done for us. We know that without her we would not have enjoyed ourselves so thoroughly this year. 7X SAG A 9
