Motivating these goals have been the re- quirements of increasing student bodies and the quest for higher academic excellence. A new library, language lab, and lunch room, math I and ll, Spanish Ill, technical teaching aids - these were hopes and dreams embedded in her past which are now realities in her present. This is the progress of Hickory High School.

With every new student, every individual class, every new year, new beginnings and ideas unfold in Hickory High School. Each student who is entrusted to H.H.S. is another of her prospects. Engaged in an interdependent relationship, she instills in him all of her molding characteristics. The student in return offers his enthusiasm, his problems, his needs, and these evolve into prospects-progress unfocused. New ad- vanced courses, a new gym, technical sci- ence labs--all of these and many others are the things for which H.H.S. must plan as she continues in her never-ending process of preparing young men and women for a changing world. Engaged in this task, she is constantly aware that these new goals are her true prospects - her people. ITS PRGSPECTS
