ELASS HISTUHY At last, we had finished plugging through seven years of gram- mar school, and now we were looking anxiously to those coveted and somewhat mysterious high school days. But what happened? We might have known it. The gates of a new Junior High School yawned wide to receive us and not those blessed pearly ones of Hickory High-Claremont High to our mammas and papas. At Hrst there was a little disappointment. But not for long did We pine. What, with ruling the roost by ourselves and running errands for dear ol' P. W., we found that this was a marvelous substitute. And, too, we were cute to skip those greeny days. After both an educational and a fun-full sojourn at J. we arrived at this Claremont Central High School fjust in case you don't recognize the name, it's the same as good ol' H. H. SJ. Bewildering, wasn't it? We were indeed amazed when one senior girl told us that she had been trying for three years to get into Coach's crowded study halls. That was the year we were intro- duced to everything from A to izzard, even the feared head, W. D., whom, we found, was an al reet fellow, after all. Next year was really a struggle, wasn't it? What with bewil- dering propositions and queer looking, perfectly enigmatic, Latin verbs, we were kept busy. But not too busy to have a little fun, and we had our share, all rightf We found time for nearly every- thing. Many of our class really shined in extra-curricular activi- ties, such as forensics, athletics, Glee Club, Band. To cap the year, we wound up with an all-out fun packed Junior-Senior. We are the first class from Greenpark to graduate: but although we've been here only three years, the happiness, fellowship and all-round fun of those years can never be exceeded. So, we seniors say with sincerest meaning that because of this school and its faculty, we are better boys and girls. Page Eight
