CLASS HISTCDRY Oh time! take us back to the greeny days when we wandered through the great halls of our school trying to find which room was on which floor and which teacher was to be privileged to have us as shining stars. Of course, much to our amazement, we soon found that there were many other stars-namely, sophomores who twinkled too: consequently, we found ourselves running errands, carrying books, and repenting at leisure in detention hall. Finally, there came a day when our light became a bit brighter -our sophomore days. Most of us had learned, at least, which was the front entrance, where the ice cream was sold, and that it was customary to take English II before attacking the dangling participles in English IV. However, a new Junior High School robbed us of the privilege of inflicting our plans Cformulated our freshman yearj on those who were to come after us. Alas! We were still the greenies of our school. But time flies on in its course. And sophomores turn to juniors: so did we. No other year was so busy for us as our junior year. Many of our class had found top places in such extra-curricular activities as Band, Glee Club, Athletics. And too, this was the year of the big event, Junior-Senior. Because we wanted this occa- sion to be patriotic in spirit as well as in motif, we did not decorate as elaborately as in former years: however it was a happy night. And now, three years bring most of us to the last year of our high school life-the climax to four years happily and profltably spent. The pages of' this yearbook will bespeak the honors of many of our class: some have become stars in athletics, forensics, and music: others have maintained a high standard of scholarship. All of us are better for having been a part of Hickory High School, a school to which we will always be sincerely devoted. Page Eight
