flaw, Our freshman class experienced no unusual difficulty and progressed slowly in an inconspicious role. As sophomores the work was much harder. and we learned to use study halls to a better advantage. Already our outstanding qualities and talents were being recognized and utilized. The junior year was a very important part of this his- tory. A larger class had some real battles with public speak- ing and geometry. It was our duty to help run the school newspaper, and some of our members played on the various athletic teams. The crowning social function was our circus- styled Junior-Senior Dance. In the final school year of the class of 1941, there was much accomplished. The athletic teams came through with flying colors. The band did fine work and made great prog- ress. Seniors led clubs and organizations to successful goals. The Twig was as good as usual, and the LOG contains new features. An outstanding class has run its course at Hickory High School. The thrill of graduation, the opportunities of col- lege, the fortunes of life-none of these will ever dim our devotion or lessen our indebtedness to Hickory High School and to its faculty.
