Wherever she goes she radiales a love ol books, never so happy as when she's lelling sludenls iusl lhe righl book lor lhem or dramalically reading aloud lo an enlhusiaslic group. Her library praclice classes lailhlully lollow her around wilh pencils and slacks ol unshelved books, willing lo work hard jusl lo share in her enioymenl ol lhe library and lo learn lrom her experience in il. Wilh a slick in her hand and a lrghl in her eye MISS CORBEIL keeps her chorus classes singing wilh all lheir mighl unlil lhe lasl bell. She spends lhe resl ol her lime wilh special groups such as lhe ensemble and lhe quarlel, gelling lhem ready lor oulside performances. The orcheslra has lound MISS NELSON a hard worker and a skilllul direclor. She gives lhem lhe real salislaclion of doing a lopnolch job. There is no lel clown in praclice, and more praclice, wilh her lireless balon always bealing lime. MRS. McLELLAN's cule giggle and conlagious love ol arl has won lhe hearls ol her classes. MEMBERS Always fhinking of inferesfing fhings for her French and Lafin classes fo do, MISS KNAPP finds fime for leading caroling in Lafin, enferfaining sfudenfs af supper while fhey speak French, mailing parcels fo France, and doing many ofher fhings besides fhe roufine work of feaching English and Romance Languages. Wifh fwinkling eyes behind his glasses and a ready chuckle, MR. SISTO hurries cheerfully from fhe Spanish room fo fhe sfage, one minufe coniugafing verbs and fhe nexf murdering a vicfim for fhe benefif of his casf. He has proved nof only a Spanish feacher wifh a sense of humor buf a play direcfor wifh real efficiency and skill and, more- over, we like him! We knew quief voiced, good humored MR. HALES among fhe pingpong fables af fhe Youfh Cenfer lasf summer so he found lofs of friends when he sfarfed his much needed remedial reading work here fhis fall. We found him more fun and more undersfanding fhan ever as he conscienfiously spenf fhe resf of his fime using up fhe surplus energy of our Junior High boys by coaching and arranging infer-school afhlefics for fhem. This was fhe pro- gram we have been wanfing and needing af Claremonf for many years and he did a wonderful iob wifh if. So anyone can see why all C. H. S. is crazy abouf Mr. Hales. Thaf genial smile doesn I' fool us. We know we can'f gef away wifh anyfhing around COACH MARTIN. Look if up, he fells lazy hisfory sfu- denfs in one of his fhree classes and if if's a foofball game or a frack meef we iusf go in fhere and do our besf, knowing he won'+ be safisfied wifh less. Sfimulafing discussions are whaf we look forward fo in MR. WlLBY'S Junior High social science classes. His gruff, fhoughfful commenfs make hisfory real and alive fo us. Always on fhe go, sparkling, enfhusiasfic MISS COLBATH wears ouf her classes long before she loses her vifalify and high spirifs. She shares a keen enioymenf of every sporf wifh her gym classes who find if hard fo believe she isn'+ one of fhem. Her own original confribufion has been a skillful, loving presenfafion of modern inferprefive dancing fo fhe girls. She has made if as much a parf of our culfural educafion as arf, music, and liferafure. In G. A. A. fhe feams have found fhaf her consfanf encouragemenf and high sfandarcls make a big difference in fheir playing and sporfsmanship. ln his quief, modesf way MR. SPENCER has been responsible for 'rhe baskefball feam we are so proud of. The boys have found him a real gym feacher wifh ever ready commenfs for fhe lazy and much appreciafed praise for fhe good player. A greaf variefy of sporfs are going on af fhe same fime under his good-nafured supervision and when fhe boys go in from fhe field, fhey feel fhey've really earned fheir resf. HOOPER, who manage fo do everyfhing from lending locker keys fo checking schedules-and Mrs. Hooper even managed fo gef married besides! Down in her cellar office MISS HENRICUS busily freafs cufs wifh iodine, fardiness wifh admif slips and irony and comes ouf in fhe affernoons fo ioke wifh Miss Colbafh and referee hockey. Clipping our hedges, picking up our papers, and driving us fo and from school wifh welcoming grins when we sfep on fhe bus are OTTO RALEY, ANDY MORGENSON and MR. FULLER. We are always hunfing for MR. GETTMAN, or fhe brooms by a door fhaf mean Mr. Geffman, and he's always busy, cleaning, sweeping, and picking up when we find him.
