As we looked out the window we saw the United States Explorer and the Vanguard passing us. Finally we arrived at our destination. we were greeted by the President of the moon, MADELON ALTENHOFEN. She took us to the capitol in her limousine driven by HARM RAND. We were honored to be made guests at the Green House. Lunch was served by the Matour de', SHIRLEY AEIKENS. After a lunch of cheese---green, llmburger, or blue- cheese, a stage show was given in our honor. First the great singer from Earth, Madame ANN SCHJELDAHL, sang nThe Moon's Welcome.n Next on the program were the famous magicians GEORGE THEIN, WINIFRED RUITER, and DOROTHY ASCHE. After the great magicians the Liberace of the moon, GENE WEIBERDINK, favored us with a selection. It was getting late so we decided to retire. Bright and early the next morning we got up, ate breakfast, and decided to take a tour of the moon. We decided to start with a tour of the capitol of the moon, Sputn1k's Rest, We started with the factory of the famous Green Cheese first. when we got there we were greeted by ANITA KRON who was to be our guide. She told us all about the making of the delicious cheese, where it got 1t's name, and about the origin of the factory on the moon. She gave us a sample and then we decided to go tO the next place on our list. The next place was Moonbeam, Inc. The owner, BERNARD ASCHE, told us they put out close to 50,000 moonbeams per year! It was getting late so we had to go. We left well informed about Moonbeams. Our next visit was at PETERSEN J GEHRKE'S FASHION SHOP. It was run by two prominent seniors from the Class of 1958 from C. C., DONNA PETERSEN A INEZ GEHRKE. We were really surprised at the fashions on the moon. They were really 'out of this world.' The shops were rather small com- pared to the big stores in the United States, but all in all, it was very nice. President ALTENHOFEN came to get us so we had to go. We went back to the Green House where we had supper. we had no other plans so we decided to take in a movie. It was called, nwill Earthlans Invade the Moonn? It was produced by BARBARA BUSH and directed by DAVID MEYER. Starring in this movie was DARRYL SHEEP, MARCIA GOLDENSTEIN, AND JOAN SOMMERFIELD. The next day we decided to go to the Science Conservatory and look at the giant telescopes. We were amazed at the greatness of them. DR. JOHN KOENEN, who was in charge of things in the conservatory, asked us if we would like to look at the earth through it. We accepted the invitation without any hesitation. We pointed the telescope in the direction of the Earth and looked for it, We could see it immediately. we decided to concentrate on Clara City and sure enough--there it was. It looked as if they were tearing down old C.C.H.S. We could see Mr. Miles standing there crying. It was breaking his heart to see C.C.H.S. being torn down. But wait--there were more standing there. There was JOHN JAENISCH, EUNICE PLOWMAN, MARGARET SCHROEDER, and even the greatest lover Of School himself DAVID PHEKKEH. We could take no more of the crumbling of dear old C.C.H.S. so we decided to look at brighter things on the moon. f As we walked down the street we heard JAMES STAGER calling NExtra, extra! Read all about 1t.n we bought a paper and as we skimmed the head- lines we noticed that SANDRA REINERS had won the Western, Riding Champion- ship of the Universe with her quarter horse, Tango. Runnerup was KATHY AALFS from Venus with her horse, Goldie, We turn the page and see LADONNA CLEMENTS Society Column. We see several familiar names including RODNEY TAATJES who had just re- turned from a visit to earth to see some of his old friends. After we finished reading the news section we noticed that KERMIT SWANSON was the publisher of this fine newspaper. We decided it was time to leave so we went back to the Green House to thank the president and her staff for their hospitality. Before we left there we met the pres1dent's special dress designer, EUNICE DUITS- MAN, and her bodyguards, SANDRA AMMERMAN, CAROLE DEGROTE, LOIS VAN BINS- BERGEN, and BETTY HARMS.

ENHHI ISTURY On September 8, l95U, forty-eight students were enrolled in the Freshman Class of Clara City High School. Our advisor was Mr. Vollmer. In our sophomore year Mr. H. N. Hanson was our advisor. parties and the school activities were the only excitement we A few class had. Lois Van Blnsbergen from Montevideo joined our class. Our junior year proved to be a very successful one. Mrs our advisor. On January 25 we received our class rings. The in April Winlfred Bulter from Worthington entered our class. we presented our class play, NFather Knows Bestn, to a large . Lallm was first week On March 29 gathering. Mr. Boelofs was our director. The Junior-Senior Tea was held on May l5. The decorations were centered around the theme, HTpop1Ca1 Holidayvh Our senior year was ushered ln by the registration of H7 pupils. A new member of our class was Carol Dragt from Prinsburg. We were very busy with the preparations for the first Alumni Banquet. Mr. Miles was our class advisor. On November l5, the senior play, NHeaded for Edenu, was given under the direction of Mr. Ellingworth. With our trip to Chl- cago and the Junior-Senior Tea,,we were kept very busy with planning and school work. But on May 29, l958, this came to an abrupt halt, when 37 seniors received their diplomas and left their desks vacant for the class of 1959. . RUPHESY44 JD -NNN-N,NNs, eigziisg If ,.' The cab recognized as one of our friends from we arrived at the spaceport just bags when the taxi-cab drove up -driver was MARLAN OSTENDORF whom we Clara City. in time to climb into our rocket. we were greeted at the door by the pilot, co-pilot, and the stewardess who were also from Clara City. They were MYRON HEBRINK, ELWOOD GRUSSING, and CAROL DRAGT. we waved goodbye to our friends and climbed aboard. The stewardess told us to fasten our oxygen masks and we were off--to the moon. We were very excited as we had never been to the moon before.
