This ear' season of football recorded an encouraging upswing for the Bruins in tne fact that they won four out of six contests, in splte f the loss of two power house units who graduated The Bruins started practice with six holdovers from last year's team, all of them first string material A newcomer from Forks, Clarence Miller was added to the list and even tho Clarence had llttle experience in six man football, he proved out to be a good center Coach Willlson worked all of his material or the basis that the player rho could produce was the one who qualified for a berth on the first string team regardless of his former stsnlin , result four w'nsl On September the nineteert the Weah Bay Red Devils met the B ulns at Clallam Ba ln a awe wklch wert to he Red Devils by a score of 46 to 26 The Red Devlls worked as a one man' team with Bowchop scoring most the 46 points for them The second gane was pla ed September twenty slxtx at Clallam Bay against the guilcene Rangers who put up a fine clean game They were beaten by the Bruins, the score 37 to Z6 The Bruins played their third game at Neah Bay on October tenth with the Red Devils as opponents Both teams played a really hard game, but in spite of all the B uins attempts, they were bettered by the Red Devils to the tune of 51 to 12 The fourth game was played the followin week end, on October seven teenth at Quilcene The trip was made during a heavy downpcur of rain, but fortunately the weather cleared by game time The B uins got off to a good start in the first quarter The rest of the game proved ntl htn all around Score, 25 to 6 in favor of the Bruins The Joyce lor ers were the next victims of a strong Bruin lineup 41 the fifth game of the season, which was played at Clallam Bay on Octooer t GH ty fourth The Log ers got off to a poor start this season, most cf their players were 1uex,er'enced, but n sp'te of heir lnexperlence the game showed some fine ball handling on their part The final score Bruins Loggers O Spartons on their own field, OCtOD8P thirty first, The B ulns really 'brought home the bacon in this contest with the Spartons on the short end of a 27 to 7 s ore The B uins will lose five stalfarts thru graduation in June Gagnon, Newscm Baker, Max Balberde, Earl and Clarerce W'ller have played their last game with the B uins, an we ish he t e oest acknowledging their contributions to athletics at O 5 H S The football letterman of 47 are Buzz eagnon, Rarl Doran, Newsom Baker, Max Balberde, Robert Doran, I Fernandes, Lar y Gullikson, Clarence Miller, Ed Nickolas, Wallace Sands, Donald Treece and L le Stilwell Q Clallam Bay Ieah Bay luilcene Yeah Ea, quilcene Joyce Forks To tal Total TT' x Home Games W S f, 5 '.' - o ll N A V I Il YY , .
