Then, the summer people 1 is? . ,gif gf., I n I s Q 2563. A 'ftihvf is, f,,,,,z 'm Q. ,.-1 J '91 ,,. J.. While researching this novel, I dug up some facts that I think need to be presented. I discovered thot work for the good of the school starts before school work starts! By the students, I mean. Not all of those iuniors and seniors who reported back with the new sophs had spent the summer relaxing or picking up pay envelopes. Quite a few of them had labored many days for the good of their school. What these summer workers accomplished must be recognized as an important part of my story of the year. 1: .. hiv., 0 J ' 4. With Dave Matz, tall-hatted and fancy-coated, swinging cn potent baton, and Wesley Ward doing special tooting tutoring, and Richard Ryan of Carnegie Tech assisting on drums- the mercury really sizzled with a fryin' type big combo. The only relief from the heat--well, air- conditioning, compliments of assistant director Richard Bertini's cool, cool arrangements.

While most other school girls were vacation-playing, there were those Honeybears, kick, kick, kicking, whirling those batons, and winning for themselves, and Miss Audrey Smith, and their school, another Tri-State trophy at Kennywood.
