FRENCH CLUB The French Club organized many ex- citing cultural activities throughout the year. They sampled French foods, such os pastries and cheeses. They even had a potluck. The club also went to French restaurants and saw French films and plays. Finolly, they had a charity fund raiser in which they collected canned food and distributed it to the needy. SPANISH CLUB This year's Spanish Club was headed by Senora Lancaster. Included in their ac- tivities was a field trip to Tijuana, Mex- ico. While there, they visited the cultural center. They also went to Las Posodos, a Mexican Christmas celebration in Old Town. 1 R.H.R. stands for Roce Human Relations. This dub is open to dl students. R.H.R. services our com- munity and serves os a means of sharing cultural experiences. It gives students the opportunity to find out about the different cultures in our schods. R.H.R. is a club that helps people in need, especially during the holidays, by giving food to the needy. S.A.O.D. stands for Students Against Drunk Driving. This club held meetings and organized many ac- tivities, one of which was a fund raiser in which they sold mistletoe during the week of December 14-18. S.A.O.D. went to the mall and passed out flyers during Christmas encourag- ing safe driving. They also received free time on television for a commer- cial warning against drinking and driving. GERMAN The German Club this year participated in cultural events sponsored by the German American Society. Members went on a field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts and sampled German food. The German Club also saw movies and experienced other ethnic events. The club is led by advisor Frau Krejer, and is open to anyone interested in learning about German culture. irrnan Oub, Top Row: Dennis Ewing, Mrs. Kroner (Advisor). RUSSIAN Russian, a course not available at many schools, is a special of- fering at Cloiremont High. C.H.S. sponsors not only a course but also a club. The club participated in many fun activities such os go- ing to museums to view icons and Russian art works. They ate Rus- sian food and saw movies, musicols, and ballets such os The Nutcracker, composed by Tchaicovsky, a Russian composer. Last, but not least, the Russian Club goes to what Mrs. Krejer calls a shindig,” a festivol occur- ing semi-onnually in the foil and spring. «sion llub.
