With five players new to the sport, the team as a whole showed a willingness to win. Coach Waters attributes their success to the attitude of the girls' coming out; they were willing to put in the effort needed. Of the new players, Trocey Caron was especially good on defense. She hod never ployed soccer before and Coodi Waters said she wouldn't have known what to do without her. Of the veterans, Clairemont for the first time had four-year returr players Denyce Hobgood and Vikki Sanger. An especially de mined effort from Dorothy Wagoner, the goal keeper, earned 185 saves for league. The team, os Coach Waters puts it, just keeps getting ter. It was the first time Clairemont tied and then beat La Jc All the determination and perseverance paid off. Congratulati qiHs' soccer! Join» doors it with inches to spore. The (loiremont track team looked good. They hod a com paratively smaller team, but those members they did have were excellent. This wos shown by their impressive performance in the invitationals. Along with the new athletes, this was Coach Blume’s first year cooching. Matt Little described his abilities as “awesome.” Coach Blume was also helped by returning Cooches Osmon and Taylor. Their cooching teamwork set an example for the rest of the athletes. Some of the outstanding members were sprinters Matt Littfe, Maria Simone, and Jennifer Taylor. Cercy Moore also received high marks in the long jump. The team has been blessed with much im- provement by these returning members. Overall, the team as a whole also mode us very proud.
