ADMINISTRATION The Claflin High School was established in 1909 and the first class graduated in 1913. The first classes were held in a frame structure located at the present site of the city park. Beginning in June, 1949, and completed in September, 1950, the present structure was completely remodeled. This recent improvement pro- vided additional class rooms and office quarters and a school lunch room acclaimed by state supervisors as one of the best and most completely equipped in the state. LEFT TO RIGHT: B. T. Strube, H. H. Slayton, Lowell E. Fox, W. H. Hukriede. Walter H. Hukriede is serving his third year as superintendent of schools. The board of education is composed of three members elected for three year terms. The present members are: H. H. Slayton, directorg Lowell E. Fox, treasurerg and B. T. Strube, clerk. Claflin High School has been rated Class A by the state department of education and is also a member of the North Central Association of Secondary Schools.
