As the 1952 graduates are handed their diplomas, they will embark on the road of life ahead, wherever it may take them. Andproceeding side by side with youth along that road will be progress. With that eagerness to advance which only youth can provide and with the wisdom which youth can obtain only from older generations, that road will lengthen. Each problem faced, whether or not the answer will prove to be the true one, will be a stepping-stone. Today, as youth leaves through grad- uation, the world of high school and its joys, it will be met by the seriousness of living in an age of atomic power. And on the shoulders of youth will be placed the conse- quence of that power. This book is dedicated to youth with the hope that the goal which they seek will be inspired bya higher Power than that which a scientist could provide. A.s youth moves, so shall the progress of the world. The youth of a nation are the trustees of posterity. Disraeli 2 . , 'aa STAFF Ollie Bolt' editor In M .A J iw! T' T? The first classes were held in a frame structure located at the present site of the city park. Beginning in June, 1949, and completed in September, 1950, the present structure was completely remodeled. This recent improvement pro- vided additional class rooms and office quarters and a school lunch room acclaimed by state supervisors as one of the best and most completely equipped in the state. The paper does much more than supply the reader with school news. It gives the students working on the paper a sense of respon- sibility and working on the Wildcat Scratch impresses upon our minds the need for co-operation and given us some idea what it is like to work on a newspaper. The purple and white were led by 8 seniors and some very good prospects of underclassrnen in their 1951 gridiron appearances. Winning their first game 6--o, they ended up witharecord of5 won, 4 lost. At Macksville the two coaches started with two new men in the backfield who had never been in the backfield before. They were Jack Feist, a senior and Jerome Beck, a junior who played his first game of football against Macksville. On defense Jerome Gerstenkorn, Joe Chism, Lester Shaw, and Jack Feist were exceptionally good in many of the games and in other games other players made spark- ling tackles and runs. .Toe Chism was unable to play the last two games due to an injury received in a game earlier in the season.
