This year's track team had several fine indi- vidual performers, but it lacked depth. Only five seniors were available for leadership. Generally speaking, track events were weaker than field events. For some the opponent is distance, for some it is time. Which ever it is, the com- petitor must push himself to the limit if he is determined to be the best. Top p hy s ic al conditioning and proper mental attitude must meshto enable the competitor the all- important edge it takes to be the one who breaks the string, jumps the highest, throws the farthest. Roger Robbins roars by the finish. Sophomore Mike Wellock was the season's best long jumper. His presence added depth to the squad.
