The 1967- 68 Cavalier squad was y rich in these components. The thirteen boys who started and D finished the season could be proud of the character the re y - vealed through the long and demanding winter of the basket- ball season. A Probably the season's highlight occurred at Astoria when the Cavaliers demonstrated to the hosts what dedicated defense and ball control can do. Clackamas held the Fishermen to forty- two points in the 53- 42 exhibition of Clackamas poise and team play. Gene Stangel finished the season with most ofthe individual honors and awards by leading the Metro League in scoring, by being chosen on the All- League team and the All- State fourth team, by leading Clackamas scoring with 404 points, and by winning the Most Valuable Player honor from his teammates. Dan Lunde and Roger Hohimer were noted for their scholarship, citizenship, and team leadership. It was a pleasure to coach these boys this year. Coach Crimins 5
