Number 42 will be remem- bered for some time whenever basketball seasons roll around. It's the number worn by 6'7 Gene Stangel. He will be remembered for his 404 points this season to lead the Metro League. He will also be recalled for his ability to grab 252 rebounds from the b a c kb o a r d despite being plagued with poor vision. But perhaps even more, he will be recognized for his dedication toward self- improvement, his good sportsmanship, his team- work, and his love for the game. V x
