Text from Pages 1 - 244 of the 1978 volume:

MWW This year, the Spectator Staff would like to dedi- cate The 1978 Spectator to Civic Memorial High School. The year 77-78 will be the last full year that the student body will fill the halls of this school. Civic Memorial High School was built to accom- modate the growing community of Bethalto. A new high school is now in the process of being built to replace the overcrowded conditions ex- perienced by many students who have eventually adapted to these circumstances. The Senior class was the first group of Freshmen that had to experience the split shift that the school sys- tem had decided to use. The split shift is one thing about our high school that no one can ever forget. C.M.H.S. has been an important part of our lives. It has been the center of many school ac- tivities and the place where many of us have dis- covered lifelong friendships. Civic Memorial High School will always be treasured in our memories and we can only hope that the new high school will bring as much joy to as many people as this one has._____________________________ , These are the mem- bers of the Spectator staff who are respon- sible for creating this year's Spectator! Enjoy! (The after affects of working on the year- book) This year's Spectator staff has produced the 1978 Spectator in hopes that it will be used as a reminder of all the activities that took place during 77-78 school year. I, personal- ly, would like to extend my special thanks to Kim Lange, Lori Law, Susie Neunaber and Teri Zimmermann. Without their help, this yearbook would not have been possible. Treasure the memories stored within this yearbook!
