Introduction The above group is responsible for the production of this 1975 Spectator. Much hard work has been put into it and all of us have strived to produce a yearbook which will provide many memories in years to come. While they may not be exactly like the previous yearbooks to which you are accustomed, we have tried to make it different in order to remember the uniqueness of this school year it represents. This year provided many new and often challenging experiences for all of us. Since it was the first year for the split shift, many of students did not get the opportunity to become friends with the other classes. But for those who were given the chance, we found that the newcomers to the high school, the Freshmen, were to be a valuable asset to the student body. While all of the experiences were certainly not profitable, we hope that this yearbook will be cherished as a collection of the many good times we had at - C.M. I would like to extend my personal thanks to all who made this yearbook possible with their help and cooperation. Dedication This being Mrs. Brawn's last year of dedicated teaching, the Spectator Staff has dedicated this 1975 Spectator to her. We are proud to dedicate it to one who has proved to be a valuable asset to both the school system and the student body for many years. Mrs. Olive Brawn has taught business courses for many years. During these years she has done many things to help benefit the school and her students for many past years. She is much appreciated as can be seen in the above picture which was taken at the Christmas Assembly when she was presented a lovely boquet of flowers for being voted the Favorite Female Teacher by the student body. To further show our appreciation for all of her efforts, we are dedicating this yearbook to her. Teachers have the awesome responsibility of training and molding the young adult1 s mind and future. The only profitable way to achieve this goal is to give of yourself to each student eager to learn, and to urge him on to leam his goals rapidly. Truly, Mrs. Brawn has fulfilled all of her responsibility as a teacher in the Bethalto School System. Mrs. Brawn has been teaching for 25 years, and it is for this reason that the Spectator Staff of 1975 is proud to dedicate the Spectator Yearbook to Mrs. Olive Brawn. We congratulate her on this fine teaching record as she re- tires, and we wish her the best of success in the future.
