DEDICATION liil We are proud to dedicate the 1973-74 Spectator to Mrs. Mary O’Neal. The students over the years have found her to be an excellent teacher and a great asset to our school. Mrs. O'Neal came to our school in 1950, the year in which Unit Eight was formed. Mrs. O'Neal has been teaching in our school district for 24 years. Dur- ing those years she has done many great things to help benefit our school. At one point during her teaching career in Bethalto, she was the first Distributive Education Coordinator in the State of Illinois. In 1972, she was nominated for teacher of the year in Illinois. Mrs. O'Neal is a dedicated woman who has served most of her life teaching. Before she came to Civic Memorial High School she taught for twenty-one years elsewhere. Up to this point Mrs. O'Neal has taught for a total of forty-five years. We the Spectator Staff of 1973-74 say, Hats Off! and Thanh You to a fine woman. 5
