Foreipor the Editors sit back and view their work, they are thankful that theirs is the sixty-first attempt to portray the life in our microcosm. Without the valuable suggestions afforded by previous volumes of The Microcosm their task would have been herculean. They trust, how- ever, that the readers will view with indulgence any departures from the old standards. Whatever new features have been introduced and whatever characteristics of previous volumes have been eliminated they believe to be for the best. seven
