The Cougars tied for second place in the Tri-County League with the help of their new coach, Blas Mercurio. The team was built around nine returning lettermen, with Bill Shores and Ernest Moline as co-captains. The team had its ups and downs but it out-classed the strong Puente team in its last game. This made the total three games won from its Five league opponents. Bob West, Student Body president and left end, received the Sportsmenship Award. It was awarded on the basis of cooperation with teammates and the ability to put the team above him- self. The hopes are high for another good team next year, because there will be seven returning lettermen. These men have seen a lot of action this year and are expected to make a good show- ing in the future. They will be lead by this year's co-captain, Ernest Moline, and all-league guard, Gerald Evans. The Bee's were coached by Iim Henderson. They had four league games. They defeated Bonita, tied with Puente, and lost to Chino and Corona. They also played Downey and Iohn Muir, both of these games being lost by Citrus. The Cee's were coached by Mr. Kenny and Mr. Lincoln. Twenty-four boys made their letters. Out of four league games they won two and lost two. They also played Downey, Citrus lost. The Cee Football squad didn't have their picture taken because the camera was out of work- ing condition at that time.
