Friendly and undersfanding, Mr. Sfurges always has a helpful sugges- fion for fhose who bring fheir problems fo him. He fakes an inferesf in all school acfivifies and is offen seen ouf on fhe frack field or helping a group plan some new acfivify. He has done much fo improve fhe social life of fhe sfuclenfs, and he is looking forward fo a more varied social program. If is composed of +he execufive cabinel, fhe presidenl of Boys' Org., lhe presidenl' of Girls' League, fhe presidenfs of each class, 1'he Siudeni' Welfare Council represenfaiives, and fhe guidance secfion represenfalives. During fhe firsf semesfer ihe Council mel' each week and during fhe second, every fwo weeks. Under fhe able leadership of Leonard Sills il' planned many acfivilies. The Welfare Council was responsible for +he recommendafion of a clean-up cam- paign, in which fhe whole school fook par+. The Council submi+'red several suggesfions as lo how 'l'he campus should be kepi' clean, one of which was adopled. The frash cans were painled yellow and orange by Lurece No'r+, Audrey Walker, and Bonnie Midkiff.
