Mr. Sturges and Mrs. Sheldon, the vice-principals, when not meeting' classes, were in the general office helping' Mr. Hayden, tirace, and Ruth as trouble-shooters. 'l'he freshmen had so many new things to see, to do, and to learn that they were probably dizzy by the time the day was over--in fact, so dizzy that doubtless several of them took the wrong' bus home and had to return to school with Sandy or Bloc and start all over again. Probably every student had the problem of adjusting' himself to at least one teacher he had never had before. At the beginning' of each period one found his classroom, g'rabbed a seat, and, if the teacher was new to him, looked him or her over to try to decide if re- ports about him or her could really be true. After it appeared that everyone had filed in and found himself a seat, the teacher usually passed out text-books, having' each person sig'n l.y,,,,,.,A B. 5,,,,L,,0N as a library record. Then one knew that vacation was really over and school had begun. MR HAYIDEN, our principal, not only di- rects the school as a whole but is an active member of the committees: these include Stu- dent XVQ-lfare Council, the Counseling' Com- mittee, the Athletic Committee, and Student lfinances. A corner of the library and is one of the junior class advisers. She will help plan and supervise the junior-Senior Banquet. MISS BOYD teaches typing' and office machines. For three years she has been one of the senior class advis- ers. Among other things she is faculty representa- tive for the junior Club Dance and helps with the counseling' program and the student finances. MR.
