Marmaduke Hisfory of Company C THE ' COMPANY THAT CAN BY OTTO BRIDGFORTH Com an C was indeed fortunate in Securin its oflicers. The were as P Y E Y follows: Capt. W. G. Livesay, Commanding Officer, Ist Lieutenant Edmunds, and 'znd Lieutenants, Wordand Ferguson. Capt. Livesay is the type of man that all who have come in contact with have learned to respect and care for.' He, being the senior captain of the camp, is Very well suited for his position. His military history is almost unsurpassable. He fought in every major engagement that the American troops took part in the World War, and was cited three times for his remarkable activities. He received the French Croix De Guerre, and was among the leading American Officers to take part in the war. Since the war, he has been an instructor in the Infantry School, Camp Benning, Ga. We are very proud to have such a capable man as our Company Commander. Ist Lieut. Edmunds, like Capt. Livesay, is a very capable man. He is Very polished and appealing. Before the war he served with the Indiana Guards. During the war he entered the Cavalry. He Went to France, and while there attended the Cavalry School. After finishing the course he was sent into the fight. He took part in the Fifth Corps offensive, and fought at St. Mihiel and in the Argonne. When the war was over he toured Germany. He is now at- tending the school here for officers. We have much to boast of when we boast of Lieut. Edmunds. A 2nd Lieutenants Word and Ferguson are fresh and youthful, both having graduated from their colleges this last spring. They received their commissions in the Reserve Officers' Training Corp in their schools. Both have won the hearts of the cadets in their platoons, and we can safely say that we count ourselves fortunate in having them for Company Officers. We regretted very much that Lieut. Word became sick the last week of carnp and was unable to return to his duties. , , Having told of the high standing and records of our Company Officers, it would be useless to detail the progress of the Company, which has almost paralleled the standing of our beloved oHicers.
