L THE DEFENDER k f Q is at Our efiicient Ex- ecutive Officer, l,ieut. Colonel 'l'. M. Hunt- er, has had a great work and he did it well. His position is similar to that of the Chief of Staff and it is for him to make decisions and see that all the orders are carried out as given by the Camp Commander. There A was never any dim- culty finding Colonel Hunterg he was al- ways faithful and quick to help as well as to decide what was best for the camp. He saved much of the 'VHQMAS IIUNTIQR VVOI'k that YVOUld have Lirur. Cofmzrl, QillC.,!U. S. flrmy fallen upon our Com- P'xCC t 'c Olhccr manding General and there is much fine comment about his work and the delightful and firm manner in which he conducted his duties. NVe hope for his return next year. Perhaps no one - in Camp handles and approves more papers and gives more de- cisions than does the Camp Adjutant, This year the Camp has t been very fortunate in having Lieut. Col. H. R. Smalley. His genial personality and executive ability have kept things running smoothlyg he was al- ways alert and keen for any suggestion that would help the esprit-de-corps. Lieut. Colonel Smalley was keenly interested in and es- pecially put forth Cvcry CHO,-t loyvard I'l0NVARlJ R.SMA1.i.m' keeping CMTC stu- dents properly caretl forg he also took great interest in the organization of the CMTC band and the general entertainment and recreation for the entire Camp.
