Dedzca tion -pi!-, 4... . J maxi.. A 1 1 . - A A if h 4, ln Psalm 27:11 we Hnd David entreating the Lord: Teach me Thy way. We live in a society that has lost its way. We read of such in Isaiah 53, We have turned everyone to his own way. Notice that it does not say their own way. Men apart from God cannot agree on a way because they have no point of reference. This is reflective of the days of the judges when every man did that which was right in his own eyes. History has once again repeated itself as existentialism advocates the same approach to life which was such a dismal failure for Israel, each person doing his thing. However the only viable option is given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ who said: l am the way .,.. The most desperate need of this hour is for those who will teach His way, that is who will effectively present the one who is The Way, the Lord Jesus Christ. This has been the heart of Mr. Kaufman 's ministry - to prepare others to communicate the truths concerning Christ. But more than technical know-how has been involved. We are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul who declared: We were willing to have imparted unto you . . . our own souls. Truly Mr. Kaufman has shared his life with us so that we might teach others His way. For this we are deeply grateful. l 1-

President 's Message Teach Me. Thy Way ln Psalm 27:11 we End David pleading with the Lord to teach him l'Hs way, and for good reason. l'Hs ways are not our ways. We read in Proverbs, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. His ways are not natural to us. They must be learned. Thus the plea of , the Psalmist. But what does this teaching process in volve? The starting point is God's revelation. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Learning the Lord's way, howev- er, requires more than a causal acquaintance with God 's written revelation. It is only as we are willing to give ourselves wholeheartedly to the understanding of it that the path be- comes illumined. The second step in learning God 's way goes beyond the Hrst. Learning the content of the word is not enough. There must also be the experience in applying the truths of God's word to the situations of life. The writer of Hebrews speaks or' having our . . . senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Experience is not sufhcient. The experience must involve active application of the Word of God to each situation if that experience is to be a learning experience. Once an older executive who had not learned a tremendous amount from his years of business said to his younger colleague, l'll have you know that I have 30 years' experience in this business. The younger man perceptively replied, You don 't have 30 years' experience. You have one year 's experience 30 times. This is true also of many Christians who have not learned from their experiences because they have not lived those experiences in the light of God's Word. This type of experience teaches us where the path leads. There is still a deeper lesson to be taught us. The lesson of how. We may by reason of use have our senses exercised so that we know where to go, but we may not have learned yet how to . . . follow His steps. The answer to the how question is that if we are to learn to follow l'Hs steps we must do so with l'Hm. Enoch walked with God. Noah walked with God. The Psalmist testified, Though l walk through the valley of the shadow of death . . . thou art with me. Paul spoke of the fellowship of His sufferings, and when he came to the end of his earthly sojourn and all had forsaken him, yet his testimony rang out, but the Lord stood with me. May the Lord teach us His way. Psalm 27:11 Teach me they way, O Lord and lead me in a plain path . . . M A-.1- h,,?.Eir. X 31 ?'J'2E'E'v, X lk 1 gl fr .W Y L g- 'E - - 'zip , . A-.-xv , ffm
