It was open to every boy in the community who was not going to high school, regardless of whether he had ever attended a high school before, or not. This was our high school's first attempt to help in this Way, people in the community who were not regular students. This course was held during the winter months, at that time of the year when the farmers have the most spare time. The course lasted six- teen weeks from November 30 to April 2. There were fourteen boys en- rolled in this class. The course consisted of Business Arithmetic, Business Bookkeeping, Business Spelling and Penmanship, and Business English. This special class may be continued next year. a -A 1926 1 - I PAGE 291

FRESHMEN Some people call us la plus grande classe de pignaufe, the Cunabulag otherwise we are known as freshies. But what do we care? Everybody does not have the privilege of being called green, Our castigators, the loquacious sophomores, elite juniors, and saga- cious seniors, must also remember that they were not always those ethereal beams of unconquerable pertinacity. Anyway somebody has to take the punishment and we are willing victims. Our predecessors ought to be unanimously proud of such a group of hearty cooperative young people who are out for knowledge and the good of their alma mater. The word green surely does not mean that we are not perspicacious but that we are striving toward an education which will fit us for complete and useful lives. Come on, classmates. Let's go! 1926 I I IPAGE 281
