We had reached the longed for goal of being Seniors. Our enrollment however, had slightly changed as Bessie York entered Milford High School and Wilbur Zbinden stayed behind. Nevertheless after taking account of the students, the membership proved to be greater than it was before as Blanche Ward entered from Buckley High School, Zazelle and Lynden Meredith and Opal Judy from Wellington High School and Carl Kuebler and Richard Brenner returned to complete their High School education by tak- ing the fourth year. The faculty of the school had been increased so that besides Mr. Sulli- van and Miss Hahn, our teachers consisted of Miss Chappell, Miss Rietz and Mr. Courtright. A baseball team was again organized in which the main stays were Seniors. The basketball squad consisted of the Senior men the same as of the year before. Having regained all of their old pep and enthusiasm they managed, by means of good clean lighting, to Win the county championship, the second time such a feat had been accomplished in the history of the school. In track the Seniors were the leaders. They excelled in field and track events. All the former activities in the various Glee Clubs, in Chorus and Orchestra, were resumed, in each of which some members of the Senior Class participated. The school representative in extemporaneous speaking and decla- mation was a Senior Q the second year that our class had the honor of furnish- ing the participant. Although our number kept continually decreasing, almost half of the original students stayed together unto the end. Since the fourth year had been added to our High School, we were honored with the privilege of being the first Seniors. We had reached the zenith of our heighth. We have tried to do justice to our exalted position by setting a good example for those who will follow in our footsteps. Selah! Misconstrued Said a mother to her studious son: You are pale from studying night and day, Too long over books you toil. Now tell me, haven't you, Carl, Been burning the mid-night oil ? And her studious boy admitted, With a blush 'twas even so, But said he 'twas only a little, For he turned the lights down low. -A. G. Y. 1926 IPAGE 201

J U NIORS A In September 1923, fifteen students were in the Freshman Class. Clyde Boers dropped out and David Hamrick entered our class, thus keeping our number the same as at the end of the year. Miss Perisho was our advisor that year. In our Sophomore year, we still kept our fifteen members. Miss Hahn was our class advisor this year. We started doing more in school activities that we had in our Freshman year. The same students entered the'Junior Class this year and we also welcomed Bertha Alt. Wilbur Zbinden dropped out so at the end of the year we again number fifteen. Our class has always been represented in all the activities of the school. We have always tried to make C. P. H. S. a better school because we have been students there. -1926 I I IPAGE 221
